Feel the Rush: A Hard Feelings Novel (InterMix) began with the unexpected reunion of lovers who had an unrestrained, steamy, once-in-a-lifetime, one-night-stand. Megan Mitchell, a nurse at an Army hospital, moved from New York to Georgia, started a new job and vowed to find "Mr. Safe." The first man she met was her next-door neighbor, Reed Porter, an Airborne Jumpmaster and daredevil extraordinaire - the epitome of "Mr. Wrong," whom she recognized immediately as her one-time lover, from eight years ago.

Reed, however, did not recognize Megan until she jarred his memory and the same inexplicable attraction they felt was rekindled. Each time they were together the sex was hot and became progressively hotter. Neither was expecting the level of intimacy they experienced as they let their protective walls down.

These were likable characters - people we know, possibly our friends, or versions of ourselves. Megan consistently chose men who were emotionally unavailable. Reed seemed to fall into that category. He was the bad boy in an Army uniform, with a heart of gold, but uninterested in the same type of commitment, as Megan. While they seemed perfectly matched, they were looking for different things out of a long-term relationship.

Ms. Leverich built the tension slowly, as the lovers rediscovered their connection. We became invested in Megan and Reed's emotional journeys as individuals and as a couple. Then, life happened, proving that they lived in a very small world. Two plot twists blew me away, and served to intensify Megan and Reed's already complicated and moving relationship. I wanted to wrap my arms around both of these characters at different points during the book.

The secondary characters were fully developed people who added to the story. Megan's best friends Eva and Trevor supported and confronted her on her own failings, as real friends would. The camaraderie exhibited by Reed's fellow soldiers clearly illustrated the bonds created by men in uniform, who perform dangerous jobs. The soldiers were multifaceted alpha men, who cared for each other as family, and played a part in bringing Megan and Reed together.

Feel the Rush: A Hard Feelings Novel (InterMix) was funny, sad, sexy, and deeply poignant. It surpassed my expectations and had me reaching for tissues on several occasions. I highly recommend it for readers looking for rich characters who suffer unavoidable heartbreak, as they transition into the best version of themselves and learn to embrace love.

I also recommend reading Ms. Leverich's first novel in the series The Valentine's Arrangement: A Hard Feelings Novel (InterMix).

Feel the Rush A Hard Feelings Novel edition by Kelsie Leverich Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I wasn’t thrilled that Kale and Ronny (The Valentine’s Arrangement) weren’t in this book because I was obsessed with them but Kelsie hit this one out of the park. Meagan and Reed are so easy to fall for in this book and I was sad all over again when it came to an end. I’ll definitely be rereading this! Tons of surprises and game changers that I didn’t see coming. Love love love.
Sigh...just what I needed-another fictional man to love. Reed is definitely everything I am looking for in a man so it was easy for me to connect with the characters & get sucked in to the story.
This book was very well written. Kelsie has a smooth writing style and a wickedly wonderful & naughty imagination that makes for a fun ride. I really can not wait to read book 3.
If you haven't read The Valentine's Arrangement yet, do so before reading this one. While Feel the Rush could be read as a stand alone, why would you want to deny yourself the enjoyment of reading the first one?
I have been anxiously awaiting another book by Kelsie Leverich after loving The Valentine's Arrangement so much. And now that Feel The Rush is here, the wait was truly worth it.

This beautifully written book tells the love story of Meaghan and Reed. Meaghan always picks the bad boys, she has fun with them and then they leave. She is about to turn 30 and decides to try to find her Mr. Safe, get married, have kids and live happily ever after.

Enter Reed Porter, military man, hotter than all hell, and usually wanting nothing more than some casual sex all the while being a daredevil of sorts outside of the bedroon.

Reed and Meaghan have a bit of a past, one that Reed has seemingly forgotten. When they meet again, both are very much attracted to the other but since Meaghan has decided to not go the casual sex/bad boy route any longer, it is truly a battle of wills to see if she can resist Reed. Will he be her Mr. Safe? Or will she stay away from his southern charm?

I loved this story so much because Kelsie Leverich gives the reader characters with real heart and soul that you can't help but cheer for. Not to mention, the hot military men that are front and center and make you want to either enlist or get a job on a base just to be near them so you could drool all day long!

This is an intricate, lovely and downright sexy love story that had me completely captivated. I enjoyed the secondary characters of Eva (Meaghan's very spirited best friend and wingman), Trevor (Meaghan's hulk of a "big brother") and the men of Reed's outfit Murano and Sanders in particular, who are great fun to watch.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It had the HEA I totally love and need and two incredible lead characters that had me struggling, swooning and sighing right along with them through every struggle and turn in their journey.

I look forward to more from this extremely talented author.
